New Jewish Latin America Collection at UWM

Robert and Sandra Meldman of Mequon and Michael and Reena Hais of Arcadia, Calif., have established, in memory of Sandra and Reena’s parents, the Louis P. and Ethel S. Setlick Fund for the Study of Jewish Society and Culture in Latin America and the Caribbean at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Golda Meir Library Special Collections Department.

The Setlick Fund is intended to help build a collection of primary-source printed materials that documents Jewish culture, life, and influence in Latin America and the Caribbean, both historically and contemporaneously.

The fund will also support academic and public programs on Jewish Latin America, including lectures, exhibits, symposia, and workshops.
