Gutmann is president of Jewish Social Services

Diane Gutmann was elected president of Jewish Social Services of Madison at the agency’s 29th annual meeting, held Oct. 22. She succeeds Maria Cancian who served from 2005-07.
Other officers elected were: Mel Morgenbesser, vice president for a second term; Norma Sober, secretary; and Mark Frankel, treasurer for a fourth term.
Elected to the board of directors for the 2007-08 term was Dorothy Edwards; for the 2007-09 term Nancy Youngerman; and for the 2007-2010 term, Cynthia Hirsch, Merilyn Kupferberg, Mel Morgenbesser, Jeanne Silverberg and Dean Ziemke.
Elected to ex-officio positions on the board were Rabbis Jonathan Biatch of Temple Beth El, Kenneth Katz of Beth Israel Center, Yona Matusof of Chabad House at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Laurie Zimmerman of Congregation Shaarei Shamayim; Greg Steinberger, director of Hillel Foundation University of Wisconsin; and Steven Morrison, executive director of the Madison Jewish Community Council.
