Edith Jacobson

Milwaukee native Edith Jane Jacobson (nee Albert) died Sept. 1 at the Helen Bader Center of progressive Alzheimer’s disease. She was 84.

She graduated in 1935 from Shorewood High School and attended Milwaukee State Teacher’s College.

A homemaker, she and her late husband, Milton P. Jacobson, were residents of Whitefish Bay for 48 years. He died in 1996.

She belonged to Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun and its Sisterhood, Mt. Sinai Hospital Auxiliary, League of Women Voters and the Milwaukee Symphony League; she also supported Planned Parenthood.

In addition to spending time with her family, her interests included tennis, swimming, bridge, playing the piano, current events and attending the symphony.

She is survived by daughters Barbara (Mel) Bacher of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Nancy Branson of Safety Harbor, Fla., and four grandchildren.

Rabbi Marc Berkson officiated at the funeral on Sept. 4. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
