February 25th, 2005

Milwaukee artist Toby Colton and 11 other artists have opened a cooperative art gallery, the Griffin Gallery, at 133 E. Wisconsin Ave. (Hwy. 16) in Oconomowoc.

Featuring works of original fine art, the gallery mounts six shows per year with four featuring guest artists and two featuring one of the cooperative’s members. It is open Wednesdays and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Fridays 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sundays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and by appointment.

Colton, who works in acrylics, paints nontraditional still lifes and landscapes, some with Jewish themes. She also paints people’s “energy fields.”
