JCC aquatics program wins national awards

The Aquatics Program of the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center received 2003 National Aquatic Program Awards by the United States Water Fitness Association.
The program received five awards, including: One of the Top 60 Aquatic Programs in the United States, ranking 13; Top JCC Aquatic Program in the U.S.; Top Aquatic Program in Wisconsin; One of the Top Swimming Instruction Programs in the U.S., ranking 23. Also, program director Bob Aker ranked 13 among the top 60 aquatic directors in the country.
In evaluating programs, the association considers the health and safety of a facility, the aquatic staff member’s qualifications and national certifications, administration of the program, special events and methods of motivating participants, and leadership development of staff and volunteers.
