Lerman to receive ACLU youth award

Ilana Lerman, a senior a Nicolet High School, will receive the American Civil Liberties Union of Wisconsin’s 2004 Youth Civil Libertarian Award from the ACLU of Wisconsin Foundation State Board of Trustees at the Bill of Rights Ceremony on Saturday, March 27 at the Pfister Hotel.

She is being recognized for her work with the Youth & Civil Liberties Council as facilitator and advisor to the agency’s largest public education program, “The Other American Tour.” She also has been a department intern; delegate to the ACLU’s National Membership Conference; presenter at the ACLU Wisconsin’s first annual Statewide Student Convention; and chair of the YCLC Advisory Board.

In addition, she is being honored for her passion and commitment to social justice and civil rights work.

She is the daughter of Sharon and David Lerman of Glendale.
