Kliegman heads new pediatrics research institute

February 13th, 2004

Dr. Robert Kliegman has been named executive vice president of the Children’s Research Institute, a new entity within Children’s Hospital and Health System.

A pediatrician-in-chief and holder of the Muma Family Chair in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Kliegman is also chairman and professor of pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

The institute will provide a physical location and infrastructure needed to continue to expand pediatric medical research programs. Recruiting for faculty and leaders will soon begin, and the institute will be operational later this year.
