JNF taps winners in essay contest

May 18th, 2001

In celebration of its coming 100th anniversary and the holiday of Tu B’Shevat, Jewish National Fund of Wisconsin held an essay contest for religious, synagogue and day schools across the state. It was sponsored by the Fannie and William Kesselman Endowment Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation , the endowment development program of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation .

Students submitted essays based on the holiday that were designed to inspire them to learn more about Israel. Prizes winners are Congregation Sons of Abraham of LaCrosse and Congregation Shalom of Fox Point , who will use the financial awards to purchase books for their libraries.
