Faye R. Gershon

Native Milwaukeean Faye Gershon (nee Reiser) died Aug. 16. She was 88.
The Milwaukee native graduated from Cudahy High School and attended Milwaukee State Teachers College and Marquette University. She was a real estate broker and vice president of Gershon Realty & Appraisal Service, Ltd.
She was a member of Congregation Sinai and belonged to NAAMAT USA (formerly Pioneer Women) and Womens American ORT.
Her special interests were traveling, music including attending Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra performances and working with her husband, Milton J. Gershon, in their business.
Further, she enjoyed spending time with her family and, most recently, watching the Green Bay Packer games.
According to her family, she was an outstanding cook and baker and was known for her banana cake, brownies, pickles and homemade jams.
In addition to her husband of 66 years, she is survived by daughters Janis (Jerry) Kohlenberg of Green Bay and Laurel (Jack Gesell) Gershon of Milwaukee; sisters Clara (Charles) Peckarsky of Milwaukee and Rochelle (Sherman) Frank of Sarasota, Fla.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Rabbis David Cohen and Shlomo Pontos officiated at the funeral on Aug. 18. Burial was in Mound Zion Cemetery.
Memorials to Congregation Sinai, NAAMAT USA, Womens American ORT or St. Marys Hospice were suggested by the family.
