January 3rd, 2003

New York — “The Highest Commandment,” a made-for-television documentary about Jewish education, will be broadcast in Wisconsin on Sunday, Jan. 12. It will air at noon on WISN-TV in Milwaukee and at 11:30 a.m. on WXOW-TV in La Crosse/Eau Claire.

The film is produced by the Jewish Theological Seminary, the primary academic institution of the Conservative movement. According to a press release, the film looks “at several dynamic individuals who have overcome great obstacles to their desire to fully explore Judaism’s rich heritage, rituals and sacred texts.”

It also details the wide range of Jewish education programs available and includes comments by “leading rabbis and Jewish educators of our day.”
