Womens network honors 77 conference delegates

State delegates to the first National Womens Conference in 1977 were honored Sunday, Oct. 11, by the Wisconsin Womens Network at its Stateswomen of the Year Awards brunch in Madison.
Among the states 32 women to attend the inaugural event were Gene Boyer of Madison and L. Mandy Stillman of Milwaukee.
In 1977, the group met in Houston to developed goals regarding credit, education, employment, rape, reproductive freedom, poverty and abuse that have changed the lives of women all over the United States.
Boyer is a founder of the National Organization for Women and the Wisconsin Womens Network. Stillman is a Milwaukee attorney.
