JHCC announces award recipients

At the Jewish Home and Care Center’s annual dinner on Sunday, Oct. 20, Jaye S. Joseph and Sheldon Gendelman will receive its Leadership Award.

Sponsored by Charlotte and Burton Zucker, the award recognizes leadership “above and beyond the call of duty.” Joseph has served in many capacities in the home’s auxiliary, including president, while Gendelman has been a board member for many years.

Also, the Minnie K. Friedman Volunteer Recognition Award will be presented to Elaine Schwartz and Jean Levy. The sister team has served the home for more than 20 years, originally in its Soda Shop and later in the Oasis restaurant.

The Sarah Chudnow “Bikkur Cholim” Award will be given to Sandy Friedman for her work with its Caring Partners Volunteer Program.
