Local poet is finalist in poetry society contest

Gary Horowitz of Bayside has reached the finals of the International Poetry Society’s 2002 International Poetry Writer’s Contest. A published songwriter as well as poet, Horowitz will compete against other world finalists in Washington, D.C., later this month.
