An estimated 500 people attended the Milwaukee Jewish Community Chorale concert on June 3 that celebrated the centennial of Jewish music composer and choir director Max Janowski (1912-1991). Guest artists included former Milwaukeean Cantor Nancy Abramson (in blue), now the director of the H. L. Miller Cantorial School and College of Sacred Music at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City. The concert took place at Parklawn Assembly of God Church, which inhabits the former Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue building where Janowski worked as choir director. Photo provided by Donna E. Neubauer.
