Moore marks Jewish American Heritage Month

June 1st, 2012

Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Fourth District) issued a statement on May 1 marking Jewish American Heritage Month.

The month of May was so designated by a proclamation by President George W. Bush in 2006, according to the Jewish American Heritage Month website.

“Jewish American Heritage Month provides us with an opportunity to reflect on all of the diverse ways in which American Jews have enriched our culture and enhanced our way of life,” Moore’s statement reads.

“I am proud to celebrate Jewish American Heritage of those with history in my district and throughout America,” the statement further reads.

“Throughout the month of May and beyond I encourage all people, in my district and across this country, to learn about the many and varied contributions of Jewish Americans to the growth and betterment of our nation.”
