JFS holds anti-drugs billboard contest

Fighting Back, a program of Milwaukee’s Jewish Family Services, is running a contest for designing a billboard on the theme “Don’t Drink, Don’t do Drugs.”

The contest is open to Milwaukee County middle school and high school students. The effort is intended to create billboards that counter ads that encourage unhealthy lifestyles, without targeting specific products, according to a JFS release.

Deadline for design submissions is Friday, April 15, 2 p.m. An awards ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, May 19, 5:30 p.m., at Centennial Hall, 733 N. Eighth St. Winners will receive a bicycle, helmet, plaque, and a gift certificate of $250, $150, or $50, depending on placement.
