Jewish Museum slates February events

The Jewish Museum Milwaukee has scheduled several events for February. They include:

• Museum Book Talk; Monday, Feb. 14, 1 p.m. Facilitator Sherry Blumberg, Ph.D., will discuss “Yehudah Halevi” by Hillel Halkin. Free for members, $5 for non-members.

• Professor Peter Filkins; Thursday, Feb. 17, 7 p.m. Filkins, an award-winning translator and poet, will read from his translation of Holocaust survivor H. G. Adler’s novel “Panorama.” Co-sponsored by the Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center. Admission is free, but reservations are required.

• Free Admission on Presidents’ Day; Monday, Feb. 21, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Guided tours will be available at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

• Author Lecture: Lisa C. Paul; Sunday, Feb. 27, 1 p.m. Paul will discuss her memoir “Swimming in Daylight: An American Student, a Soviet Jewish Dissident, and the Gift of Hope.” Presented in collaboration with the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation. Admission is free.
