If you need help with Passover food

March 4th, 2010

In addition to the year-round resources available through synagogues and Jewish Family Services, following are two Passover-specific sources of help:

• Free Passover food distribution: On March 21, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., food will be distributed to all community members in need at the Jewish Home and Care Center, 1410 N. Prospect Ave. The process is open to all community members in need and is completely confidential.

It is a collaboration of the Coalition for Jewish Learning, the education program of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center, Jewish Family Services, the Rabbi Scheinfeld Maos Chitim Fund, Tikkun Ha-Ir of Milwaukee and the Wisconsin Council of Rabbis.

For more information, contact Steve Baruch, 414-963-2718 or steveb@milwaukeejewish.org, or Dorene Paley, 414-967-8217 or dpaley@jccmilwaukee.org.

• Kosher Mobile Meals, a program of JFS, delivers kosher meals once a week to older adults, people with disabilities, people in area hospitals and others wanting kosher meals. Meals are $10.75 each and multiple selections can be purchased weekly.

It operates under the joint auspices of JFS, Aurora Health Care, the JHCC, Va’ad Hakashrus of Milwaukee and the Visiting Nurse Association.
