A daughter, Emma Bridget Berman, was born May 6 to Mindy and Tom Berman of Mequon. She has one brother, Jack, 2.

Her maternal grandparents are Carol and Werner Richheimer of Mequon. Martha Berman-Lipp and Bob Lipp of New York are the paternal grandparents.

Emma is named in memory of her maternal great-grandmother, Bessie Fleishman.
