Free film classes at JCC

The Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center is offering free film classes.

The classes, at 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd. in Whitefish Bay, are open to the entire community. One film, “Fever at Dawn,” is to be shown Tuesday, June 5 at 7 p.m., with Instructor Jody Hirsh. Another film, “Mr. Gaga,” is to be shown Thursday, June 14 at 7 p.m., with Instructor Keren Weisshaus.

“Fever at Dawn” is a drama where Holocaust survivors right after the war piece together their lives in convalescent centers in Sweden in 1945. One man sends letters to 117 Jewish Hungarian girls convalescing in Sweden, hoping to find love – and 19-year-old Lili responds. Based on a true story.  In Hungarian and Hebrew with subtitles.

“Mr. Gaga” is a documentary on the early years, personal history and artistic career of Ohad Naharin, an Israeli choreographer. The film includes numerous stunning dance sequences.
