The reception is slated for Sunday, June 3 at 4 p.m., with a program at 4:30 p.m. The reception will feature food, drinks, and an opportunity to engage directly with the artists and their work. The Milwaukee Jewish Artists’ Lab is one of the six artists labs in the Midwest that create artwork based on a different theme each year. The Milwaukee Jewish Artists’ Lab is a program of the JCC’s Tapestry: Arts and Ideas initiative, and was made possible with initial grants from the Covenant Foundation.

“This year, our Lab asked questions about change and willingness to cross thresholds,” said Jody Hirsh, JCC Director of Judaic Education.  “What are thresholds that Jews have crossed throughout the centuries?  How is this concept relevant to us today?  This exceptional work talks to those themes in creative and meaningful ways.”

The 2017-2018 Milwaukee Jewish Artists’ Lab’s exhibiting artists include Bonita Bruch, Cindy Cooper, Eva Hagenhofer, Jody Hirsh, Marla Morris-Kennedy, Laeh Bensman McHenry, Steven Pevnick, Bev Richey, Deanna Spanjar, Lucy Rosenberg, Suzanne Rosenblatt, Marc Tasman, Rochelle Frisch Whiteman, Deborah Wolf Lurie and Clarice Zucker.
