Sandi Podell

Sandi Podell of Fox Point died April 19. She was 82.

She is survived by spouse Stanford Podell. Sandi graduated from Whitefish Bay High School in 1952 and attended University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. She worked as a secretary.

Marion I. Rice

Marion I. Rice of Mequon died July 3. She was 83.

She resided at Wright House Memory Care of Mequon.

She was born July 6, 1933 in Germany and was predeceased by spouse Robert M. Rice in 1999.

She came to Wisconsin from Germany in 1937 and graduated from Shorewood High School in 1952. She also graduated from University of Wisconsin – Madison.

She was a member of Congregation Sinai. She was CFO and Rice Adjustment Company Owner and worked with Kensington Travel.

Special interests included travel, knitting and, of course, family.

Mother of Linda (Larry Martin) Rice, Debbie (Jim Blong) Rice, and Nancy (David) Gruber. Grandmother of Jeffrey (Tori) Marx, Michael Marx, Andrew (Meredith) Epstein, Alison Epstein, Steven (Jaclyn) Gruber, and JoJo Gruber. Dear great-grandmother of Patrick, Charlie and Ellie Epstein; Ethan and Goldie Marx. Sister-in-law of David (Marcia) Rice.

Burial was at Spring Hill Cemetery on July 5 with Rabbi Noah Chertkoff of Congregation Shalom.

Theodore A. Sattler

Theodore A. Sattler of Mequon died July 8. He was 89.

Theodore was a 1945 graduate of Rufus King High School. He was a member of Beth Israel Ner Tamid. He was a lifelong member of Milwaukee Harmony Masonic Lodge.

He owned Lee Lewis Habadashery for 40 years at the Wisconsin Hotel at Third and Wisconsin avenues.

He is survived by spouse Dorothy E. Sattler, children Tyler (Sharon) Sattler, Sheila (Emil) Orcholski, Barry (Deborah) Sattler; grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Theodore was a BBYO/AZA advisor for Witt AZA for 15 years. He was also a longtime volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Burial was at Temple Menorah Ever-Rest Cemetery on July 11 with Rabbi Gil-Ezer Lerer. Blane Goodman was the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be sent to Ever-Rest Cemetery c/o Temple Menorah, 9363 N. 76th St., Milwaukee 53223.

Arlene Wasserman

Arlene Wasserman of Glendale died June 25. She was 79.

Wasserman was born Jan. 29, 1938. She was predeceased by Stanley Wasserman earlier this year.

She graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee and was a member of Congregation Shalom.

Arlene and her husband were real estate brokers together, with Douglas Corp. of Milwaukee.

Special interests included mah jongg, movies, attending The Rep and the Milwaukee Symphony, and socializing with friends and family.

Mother of Debbi Keno, Lindi (Rod) Seagraves and Sid Fink; stepmother of Jackie (Steve) Blumberg, Eliot (Tina) Wasserman. Grandmother of 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Arlene loved life, her family and her friends. She will be deeply missed.

Burial at Mound Zion Cemetery was on June 30 with Rabbi Noah Chertkoff. The home was Goodman Bensman in Whitefish Bay.
