Jewish women art collectors is topic

Jewish women were among the most important collectors of art in pre-World War II Europe. The 2015 Faye Sigman Woman of Valor Lecture will explore this topic on Thursday, Sept. 10, 6:15 p.m., at the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Nancy Yeide will present the lecture, titled “Women’s Work: Impressionist and Post-Impressionist Collecting in Berlin, 1880-1930.” Yeide has been the head of the department of curatorial records at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., since 1990.

The event is co-sponsored by the Sam and Helen Stahl Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the MAM’s Fine Arts Society.
