Goldman wins award
from Green Bay shul

Congregation Cnesses Israel in Green Bay has given its JoAnn Glickman Award to religious school student Amaiah Goldman, according to the synagogue’s July bulletin.

In her announcement of the award, Rabbi Shaina Bachrach wrote that Goldman has regularly attended the Saturday morning services, has been a “gabbai-in-training,” likes to write and is “an outstanding role model for our younger students.”

Glickman was a survivor of the Kristallnacht pre-World War II pogrom in Nazi Germany who came to Green Bay and taught at the synagogue. According to Bachrach, after Glickman’s death, some of her students created the annual award.
