Obituaries for December 2014

Ervin B. London

          Ervin B. London of Glendale died Oct. 10 after a brief illness. He was 96.

          He was born in Duluth, Minn., and lived there until 1985, when he retired to La Jolla, Calif. In 2004, he moved to Milwaukee to be near his family.

          In Duluth, he was active in the local Jewish community and in Temple Israel. In Milwaukee, he was a member of Congregation Shalom.

          His wife Shirley (nee Kreiman) died in 1993. His daughter Kathie died in 1971.

          He is survived by daughters Judy (Rabbi Ronald) Shapiro and Shelley (Ehud Moscovitz) London, both of Milwaukee; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

          Blane Goodman Funeral Service handled arrangements. Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiated at the funeral at Congregation Shalom on Oct. 13. A burial service was held at Temple Emanuel Cemetery in Duluth on Oct. 14.

          The family suggests memorial contributions to Congregation Shalom and Jewish Family Services.

 

Esther Marlyn Rosen

          Esther Marlyn Rosen, nee Zezblatt, of Fox Point died Oct. 18. She was 81.

          She was a Milwaukee native who graduated from Washington High School in 1951 and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

          She was a member of Congregation Shalom and served as an officer of B’nai B’rith Women.

          Her husband, I. Sydney Rosen, died in 1986. She is survived by daughter Jody (Sandy) Silverberg; sons Richard (Kari) Rosen and Randall (Mindi) Rosen; and nine grandchildren.

          Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home handled arrangements. Rabbis Ronald Shapiro and Menachem Rapoport officiated at graveside services in Mound Zion Cemetery on Oct. 21.

          The family suggests memorial contributions to the I. Sydney Rosen Campership Fund at Congregation Shalom.
