 Fisher opens office for pediatric dentistry

          Shane Fisher, DDS, will open a pediatric dental practice, The Kids Dentist LLC on Thursday, Nov. 20.

          The clinic is located at 10618 N. Port Washington Rd., Mequon. It will begin operations with a public open house 3-7 p.m.

          According to a press release, Fisher is a board-certified pediatric dentist with 15 years of experience. The release also states this will be the first Mequon dental practice to specialize in pediatrics, and is one of only 78 such practices in Wisconsin.

          Fisher also is the U.S. director of Dentistry For All, a non-profit organization providing dental care to children in developing countries, and a part-time faculty member at the Marquette University School of Dentistry.

Lem receives Chancellor’s Award
 

          Ellyn Lem, an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha, has won the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence.

          The honor is given by the chancellor of University of Wisconsin Colleges to exceptional staff members. She was honored at a banquet in Madison on Sept. 18, and received a $500 stipend.

          She is a member of Congregation Emanu-El of Waukesha.

 

Rothschild appointed VP at MIAD

          Vivian M. Rothschild has been appointed vice president of development and communications at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. The announcement was made Sept. 24.

          A New York native, Rothschild joined the staff of MIAD in 2005 as director of communications, and she was also interim director of development for 10 months.

          She lived and worked in Israel from 1988 to 1994. She was executive editor of The Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle, 1998-2004; and strategic communications director at the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, 2004-2005.

 

Sadoff is one of ten ‘Advisors with Heart’

          Ronald Sadoff was named by REP, a WealthManagement.com magazine, as one of ten “Advisors with Heart” in the U.S.

          There were more than 200 nominations for this award, which honors advisors who put their sweat equity into philanthropic and charitable causes.

          Sadoff, 74, is the founder of Sadoff Investment Management, one of Wisconsin’s oldest independent investment advisory firms. He also founded Milwaukee College Preparatory Schools.

 
Newman joins BILTRITE
 

          Barry Newman, formerly of Newman’s Discount Furniture in Haverhill, Mass., has become a member of BILTRITE Furniture’s sales’ team specializing in mattresses.

          Newman’s Discount Furniture closed in the summer of 2013 after having been in business since 1928 and operated by three generations of family members, including Barry and his father, Norman.

          Barry has moved to the Midwest with his wife Meredith and his son Max, who recently celebrated his bar mitzvah.
