Merar signs to join
UWM tennis team
Mardee Merar of Homestead High School in Mequon has signed a letter of intent to join the tennis team at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee when she enters as a freshman this fall.
According to a report on the UWM Panthers website (uwmpanthers.com), Merar has been part of three state championship teams and of a squad that reached the semifinals. She finished fifth in state singles play as a junior and second in state doubles as a senior.
She is the daughter of Barrie and Bob Merar and the granddaughter of Maxine and Ron Cohn and Emmie Merar.
