Editor Elana Kahn-Oren received a Rockower Award for Excellence in the Jewish Press. Her story, "Why Choose Israel" won second place in the Personal Essay category.
At the annual conference, held in Scottsdale, Ariz., June 14-17, Kahn-Oren completed a two-year term as president of the organization.
Founded in 1944, the AJPA is the professional organization for the English-language Jewish press in North America. Consisting of about 250 newspapers, magazines, individual journalists and affiliated organizations. The combined readership of AJPA member publications is more than 2.5 milion.
